About Us
The Law Office of Vickey A. Wright-Smith is here to help you cut down on any family drama or confusion by preparing your Last Will and Testament, Healthcare and Financial Powers of Attorney and walking with you every step of the way for your family law needs in Washington, D.C., some parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Attorney Wright-Smith has over 30 years of experience and has been practicing in the District of Columbia Superior Court since 1992 and Maryland Courts since 1998. She has the respect of her colleagues and the Judges she has appeared before. She can be tenacious when she has to be, but always respectful. The law firm will work hard for you and handle your matter in a professional and businesslike manner.

of Columbia’s Superior Court’s Probate Panel for over twenty years, handling guardianships, conservatorships, trusts and estate matters.
Finally, I can help you with all your family law needs from separation, uncontested and contested divorces, marital separation agreements, child support and custody. These are emotional cases and I want to be the lawyer you can rely on.
I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice and received my Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law and I grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
My passion is helping people. I am here to help you get your affairs in order. I do this because families should not have to wonder what someone wanted to happen upon their death or be forced to dispose of the assets according to the statute. Death is hard enough, but it is always helpful, if you prepare a will and let your family know what your expectations are. I strongly urge people to do at least a simple will.
But even before death, you really should have a financial and healthcare power of attorney. I can’t tell you how many cases I have encountered where it has caused a lot of problems for the family when these documents are not prepared in advance and the family has to go to Court to have a guardian and/or conservator appointed. Sometimes the person appointed by the Court is not even a family member but a complete stranger. Imagine how troubling that can be for your family.
Sure no one likes to think about these things, but you will be doing your family a huge favor if you get your affairs in order and that is what I am here for. I want to help you get these very important documents done.
But if requesting the Court to appoint a Guardian and Conservator needs to be done I can assist you with that as well. I was a member of the District
